Richardson’s annual wildflower planting program begins next week. Parks and Recreation staff will drop about 2,000 pounds of wildflower seeds across the city, planting two different mixes. The first has corn flower, rocket larkspur and red corn poppy, and the second includes Texas paintbrushes, wine cups, plains coreopsis and standing cypress.

The wildflower planting program began in the early 1990s, landing the City on annual “Best DFW Cities for Viewing Wildflowers” lists.
