RICHARDSON – Beginning Wednesday April 13 at Noon, the City of Richardson begins a low-tone growl test on each outdoor warning siren.

The test lasts for 12 seconds followed by a two-second winding sound and will take place every second, third, fourth, and fifth Wednesday of the month. This is in addition to the monthly sustained tests that take place on the first Wednesday of every month.

The weekly low-tone growl tests and monthly sustained tests are recommended by the manufacturer to make sure mechanical parts of the sirens are in working order.
