Read MoreA decade ago, the Richardson Police Department held its first Youth Citizens Police Academy, and now it’s getting ready for its biggest class yet. Nearly 40 teens ages 13-17 are expected to participate in the week-long program next month, which is designed to provide first-hand information about how the department functions. Typically, the program sees 15-20 kids each
year.
Residents should expect an increase in sightings of wildlife such as coyotes and bobcats the next few months during their mating season. They rarely pose a threat to humans, however, domesticated pets, such as small dogs and cats, could be at risk if left alone outside or taken off a leash.
