FEMA Opens Disaster Recovery Centers in Richardson, Garland

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that the agency has opened Disaster Recovery Centers in Dallas County, located in Richardson and Garland, to provide one-on-one help to Texans affected by the severe storms, tornadoes, flooding and straight-line winds that occurred April 26-June 5.

Debris Haulers Progress on Storm Collection Schedule 

Debris haulers estimate they are 45 percent complete with collecting massive amounts of storm-related vegetative debris created when sustained hurricane force winds struck Richardson, and other North Texas communities, during a May 28 severe weather event. Wind gusts in the city were recorded at up to 83 MPH, snapping trees and damaging homes and buildings across the community.
