The deadline has been extended and residency requirement removed for the second annual Traffic Signal Box Art Contest. The event is held in partnership with the Richardson Kiwanis Club and is open for artists to submit one original digital design that can be easily converted to a printed wrap that covers an entire traffic signal box. On the entry form, artists will be asked what the significance of Richardson is to them.

This year’s theme is Richardson’s Sesquicentennial; the deadline to enter has been extended to Friday, May 19 by 5 p.m.

The winning designs will be showcased on traffic boxes at the following intersections:

  • Main Street and North Greenville Avenue (two traffic boxes)
  • North Collins Boulevard and North Greenville Avenue
  • West Arapaho Road and Coit Road
  • West Renner Road at Custer Parkway

In addition, each winning artist will receive $200, a plaque and have their work published in Richardson Today and other municipal communication channels.
