The award-winning comedy, the Foreigner, opens this weekend at the Richardson Theatre Center (RTC) located at 518 W. Arapaho Road #113.

It takes place in a resort-style fishing lodge in rural Georgia and centers around two Englishmen.

The play has been revived a number of times, from high school to the professional level since the 1980’s. It’s filled with laughs, scandal and secrets.

“There is so much inclusivity that the playwright was going for and what we’re trying to put across and there is a line in the show that I won’t spoil but it’s so important that we remember how alike we all are and how together we are in this journey,” said actor John Floyd.

The Foreigner runs July 19 through August 4 at RTC with performances at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

RTC is one of dozens supported by Richardson’s Cultural Arts Commission to promote arts in Richardson.
