Ride for a great cause Aug. 31 as the City hosts the ninth annual “Great Ride,” a motorcycle event benefiting Special Olympics Texas. For a minimum donation of $25 (and $10 per passenger), motorcyclists enjoy a two-hour, unescorted group ride kicked off by coffee, donuts and water, with lunch provided after as well as music and raffle drawings.
The ride (approximately 90 miles) begins and ends at CityLine Plaza, 1251 State St., with onsite registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the ride starting at 9:30 a.m. Riders are encouraged to go at their own pace and arrive back at CityLine Plaza for the festivities around 11:30 a.m.
The Great Ride is open to the public and is part of the City of Richardson’s Corporate Challenge, an annual, 10-week Olympic-style competition among more than 12,000 employees, spouses and retirees from more than 50 local companies. For more information, visit www.cor.net/greatride.
