RICHARDSON – Strong winds from a weekend storm caused some damage in Richardson including reports of downed trees and limbs.

Nine crews with Richardson’s Parks and Recreation Department are currently in the park system clearing downed trees and assessing damage from last night’s storms. Workers are clearing trees and limbs that have the potential to be hazards first and will be picking up smaller limbs and trees as the week goes on.

At this time, the Public Services Dept. is not expecting any delays with collection. They are currently running Monday’s schedule and collecting anything that might not have been called in.

If your property has downed limbs or trees after a storm, you can schedule a Brush and Bulky Item Collection (BABIC) by calling 972-744-4111 or filling out an online form at www.cor.net/babic. Curbside pickup is available on your designated recycling day (as long as the request is made by 11:59 p.m. the night before).

If residents come across a downed tree in a park, please stay away and report it using the MyRichardson App or call 972-744-4300.
