A ceremonial ribbon cutting was held this morning to celebrate the completion of the two-year Spring Valley Road Rehabilitation Project. The ribbon cutting was attended by representatives from the City as well as the City’s partners on the project: Dallas County, the City of Dallas and the North Central Texas Council of Governments.
The project improved a stretch of West Spring Valley Road from Coit Road to Weatherred/Goldmark Drive and included the replacement of two bridges, road and sidewalk repairs, intersection improvements and traffic signal upgrades that integrated with the City’s Intelligent Transportation System. The West Spring Valley Corridor, which stretches from Coit Road east to US 75, is one of six focal areas for redevelopment identified by the City Council with the adoption of the City’s comprehensive plan in 2009. Two of the other areas, Main Street east of US 75 and East Collins/Arapaho, are also currently undergoing rehabilitation work.
