Mexico City native Karina Llergo has been named Featured Artist for the upcoming Cottonwood Art Festival, to be held May 6-7 at Cottonwood Park. Llergo’s unique painting style captures the energy of the human body in motion, inspired by her lifelong participation in dance, skydiving, yoga and competitive swimming, and it will be featured on festival T-shirts and other promotional material as well as in a centrally located booth at the festival.
The semi-annual Cottonwood Art Festival displays the museum-quality work of more than 200 artists from across the country in a juried show, and also includes live musical performances, numerous dining options and a creative children’s area. Admission to the festival is free; the artists’ works are available for purchase, as are food and beverages.
