Sherrill Park Golf Course Head Professional Ronny Glanton was inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame earlier this week in San Antonio. The honor is awarded for qualities of leadership, strong moral character and a substantial record of service to the PGA and the game of golf.
Glanton has spent his entire career at the City’s Sherrill Park Golf Course, serving as assistant pro from 1981-84 and head golf pro for the past 37 years. As a PGA Member, Glanton has served the Northern Texas PGA (NTPGA) in many leadership positions including twice as President and represented the NTPGA on the PGA of America Board. He has received numerous awards including NTPGA Golf Professional of the Year three times. Most recently, he was named the 2020 PGA Golf Professional of the Year, and a new, two-acre golf park created for children and teens at the NTPGA headquarters in Frisco was named “The Ronny” in his honor.
Glanton’s playing record includes qualifying for the PGA Professional National Championship nine times and playing in seven AT&T Byron Nelson PGA Tour events.
