The Richardson Parks and Recreation Department is wrapping up another successful season of Santa’s Village.

We caught up with crews as they tore down the tiny town of 16 holiday dwellings on the north side of City Hall.

“It takes about a week to tear it down and another week for them to pick up the dwelling and take them back. This year was magical, if you can see the look on the kids’ faces, it just makes it all worth it,”  said Serri Ayers, superintendent of Community Events.

During the Annual event, a total of 3,000 Rudolph red noses in the Reindeer Shed were distributed while Prancer’s Stage featured more than 1,550 performers. There were also more than 2,720 photos taken with Santa and 5,722 Hometown Thursday tickets redeemed.  Santa’s Village had more than 800 volunteers work over the course of 10 nights to help get residents in the holiday spirit.
