Applications will be accepted starting Monday for the Richardson Police Department’s (RPD) 2023 Youth Citizen Police Academy, to be held June 12-16 from 8:30 a.m.-noon (with extended Thursday hours). The free program is for teens ages 13-17 who live or attend school in Richardson. Students will get an inside look at the different areas of the department, including SWAT, K-9, Communications, Crime Scene Investigations and more, and discuss topics such as crash investigations, drunk and distracted driving awareness, and others. Classes are held at RPD headquarters, 200 N. Greenville Ave.
Application deadline is May 19.
