The Richardson Police Department will host a Grand Opening Jan. 25 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at its new headquarters building, 200 N. Greenville Ave. The facility is part of the larger Richardson Public Safety Campus funded by the 2015 Bond Program.
The 77,000-square-foot Police headquarters building features more space for existing and future staff and numerous security and operational enhancements, including secured parking for staff and a new surveillance system. A new glass-enclosed skybridge connects it to the adjacent, existing detention center, which has undergone renovations to its lobby and façade.
The entire Campus includes the new Fire Station 1/Fire Department Administration building that opened in October 2019, as well as a 7,000-square-foot police support building to be constructed later this year.
