Richardson-based youth robotics team Marvels of Mas, part of the Muslim American Society’s (MAS) First Lego League teams, gave a demonstration at Monday’s City Council meeting and was recognized with a proclamation. The team is comprised of kids ages 4-18 and holds the world record among similar robotics teams for their robot’s “autonomous” portion of competitions. The team represented North Texas at the first Central Metro FTC Qualifier in Colorado earlier this year, bringing home two top awards (the Inspire Award and Winning Alliance trophy) and $1.9 million in scholarships, emerging as champions. The team competed against 35 other world class teams, qualifying for the upcoming Colorado State Championship.
