Road cleaning crews will begin street sweeping Tuesday to start cleaning up all the sand dropped last week to treat roads for severe winter weather. Cleanup crews will focus first on major arterials, like US 75 and intersections at major cross streets.

Afterwards they will work their way into neighborhoods where sand was also dropped on bridges and intersections. The street sweeping is expected to take several weeks, and possibly a month, dependent on weather and availability of trucks from the City’s contractor.

Trucks will be out with drivers working multiple shifts to sweep 20 hours a day until the work is done.www.cor.net/Home/Components/News/News/5436/73
