RICHARDSON – The City of Richardson is a great place to live and retire, according to a new report recently released by Niche, a company headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that runs a ranking and review site.

The report ranked Richardson No. 6 out of 2228 for Best Cities to Retire in America.

The rankings are based on rigorous analysis of key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education and from millions of reviews which also gave Richardson high ratings in the categories of diversity, housing, public schools and nightlife. 

Niche gave Richardson an A+ in its categories for Diversity and Good for Families, and an A- for Housing and Jobs. It also earned an A for Public Schools, Health & Fitness and Nightlife.  Richardson, like other communities around the country, was also graded for Weather, Outdoor Activities, Cost of Living, Crime & Safety and Commute.

The City of Scottsdale in Arizona, the City of Clearwater in Florida, the City of Metairie in Louisiana, the City of Paradise in Nevada and the City of St. Petersburg in Florida were among the top five.
