RICHARDSON – The Richardson Public Library is hosting Spring Staycation, a series of events this week to help young people continue learning while many are out of school for spring break.

The list of activities started Monday with an afternoon dedicated to exploring the great state of Texas.  Library staff estimate a little over one hundred children and their parents participated in “Discover Texas.”

“We realized, there are families that either because they’re working or there might be some financial constraints, that they can’t take big trips during spring break so, we have something for kids of all ages to enjoy spring vacation right here at the Library,” said Shay Brook with the Richardson Public Library.

Other fun events this week include a day dedicated to learning about each other’s ‘Toy Story,’ and an afternoon exploring all the great things happening at the Perot Museum.  There is also a day focused on environmental preservation with a visit from the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center and Bernadette, the Bubble Lady.
