The 31st Richardson “Family 4th Celebration” was held Monday night at Breckinridge Park. Patrons were treated to a patriotic performance by the Richardson Community Band (with a beautiful sunset as the backdrop) followed by a 23-minute fireworks show set to recorded popular music. More than 1,000 fireworks were ignited. The free event also included children’s activities and several food trucks.

The night began with remarks by Mayor Paul Voelker and the national anthem sung by Carrington Black, a winner in the 2022 Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival’s Budding Talent Vocal Competition. Miss Texas Averie Bishop was recognized, one of her first public appearances since being crowned recently at the Eisemann Center, as well as Miss Richardson and Miss Richardson’s Outstanding Teen.

The City partnered with the Richardson ISD in providing bus transportation between the park and off-site parking, with a total of 48 buses used.
