This year’s Richardson CARES (Citizens Academy and Resource Education Series) class has officially begun. The 25 members of this year’s class had their first session on Thursday night and learned about the “Richardson Way,” with presentations from the City Manager’s Office, City Secretary’s Office, Budget and Human Resources.

CARES, the Richardson Citizens Academy and Resource Education Series, is a free, eight-week program that gives an inside look at how City government works. Participants meet City staff, visit facilities and learn about the day-to-day operations of different departments through presentations, tours, demonstrations and question-and-answer sessions.
