Time to Submit Time Capsule Ideas

As part of Richardson’s 150th birthday bash on June 24, a time capsule buried at Richardson’s centennial celebration in 1973 will be opened and put on display—and a new one will be sealed. The City is looking for ideas of what to include in the new time capsule and is welcoming submissions online.

2710 Routh Creek Pkwy., behind Reserve at Spring Creek apartment complex

Cost: Free, including free parking; space is limited and registration is required here

Saturday, April 1

9-10 a.m.

Adults ages 18 and up are invited to visit the final resting place of many of the earliest settlers in the Richardson and Plano areas, including the Routh and Campbell families, and hear the stories of these early pioneers. The Routh Cemetery is older than the City of Richardson, its earliest burial taking place about 1850, and many of the descendants of those buried there have been very active in the Routh Cemetery Association, helping with the upkeep and preservation of the cemetery.
