RICHARDSON – The Rich-Tones, an all-female barbershop chorus in Richardson, is bringing the community together with a new virtual project.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic singers have not been able to meet in person and rehearse or put on any concerts. So, the group decided to entertain their fans with online performances available through social media.

Their recent video includes a collaboration with its sister group based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The group performed the song “It’s the music that brings us together.”  Their first video included “Born this Way,” by Lady Gaga.

“It was a lot of fun. The reason why we did this is so that we can sing together and the reason why we sing is to move and touch people,” said singer Peggy Blake.

The Rich-Tones Chorus is one of the many groups funded in part by Richardson’s Cultural Arts Commission.
