10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Richardson Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association’s (RCPAAA) fall electronics recycling and document-shredding event is taking place Saturday, Oct. 30. Personal shredding will be limited to what can fit into a car. There is no charge to drop off items, but donations to the RCPAAA are appreciated. Check out the October issue of Richardson Today for a list of acceptable items.
Additionally, this year the RCPAAA is partnering with Network of Community Ministries to collect shampoo and soap. Representatives from Network will be on hand during the event to collect the toiletries to distribute to their clients.
RCPAAA supports the Richardson Police Department (RPD) by enhancing awareness and appreciation of the department within the community, publicizing its services and accomplishments and developing partnerships. The money raised from the recycling/shredding event is used to sponsor the RPD annual awards banquet, pay for snacks for officers working on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and assist with medical costs for retired K9 dogs.
