After a year of study including gathering community feedback and evaluating existing offerings, the preliminary plans for the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan Update were presented to the City Council Monday by staff from consulting firm Dunaway.
Major initiatives proposed include:
- expand key trail connections
- invest in an aquatics facilities master plan
- add inclusive features to annual playground updates
An update of the Plan is required every five years, with a complete re-write every 10 years. The next step is to develop an implementation plan, followed by a finalization of a Preliminary Master Plan and City Council adoption of a Final Master Plan.
