Though the City does not currently accept plastic grocery/retail bags in its recycling program, you can donate them to Network of Community Ministries. The local nonprofit is in need of the bags to help with current food distribution demands.
To donate, bring to Network at 741 S. Sherman St. Monday-Wednesday 8 a.m.-3:45 p.m., Thursdays noon-7:45 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-noon. Drop-off is easy and “curbside;” just drive around back, have the bags in the back of your car, pop open your trunk or back hatch and staff will come out to retrieve your items.
