Richardson is turning 150 next year, and planning has begun for ways the city can celebrate the important milestone. Parks and Recreation staff outlined several possible activities at Monday’s City Council meeting including:

  • An Eisemann Center exhibit featuring historic photos of Richardson
  • Commemorative T-shirts and other mementos available to the public
  • Burying a time capsule (and exhuming an existing one)
  • City-wide community give-back/volunteer effort
  • City-wide scavenger hunt
  • A June 2023 celebration event in the CORE District

Parks staff members plan to engage community partners to assist in future planning and execution efforts and engage longtime residents for historical perspectives and information.
