The numbers are in: Peanut butter collected at City of Richardson facilities for the North Texas Food Bank’s (NTFB) Peanut Butter Drive held last month totaled 303 pounds and 169 jars! Richardson is one of several cities that participate in the annual drive, which helps feed local families in need and raises awareness of food insecurity issues in North Texas. The peanut butter (and other nut butters) collected at the Richardson drop-off locations were delivered this week to Network of Community Ministries, one of the Food Bank’s partner agencies.
Last year, NTFB provided access to 144 million meals to those in need in a 13-county service area through a variety of dedicated programs. Peanut butter is perpetually on NTFB’s list of most-needed foods since it’s nutritious, kid-friendly and high in protein.
