There’s still time to donate peanut butter for the annual North Texas Food Bank Peanut Butter Drive, which began Sept. 2 and ends Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Several locations in Richardson are drop-off sites—locations include:

  • Network of Community Ministries, 1500 International Pkwy. Regular food donation hours are Tuesdays-Wednesday 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Thursdays 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • City Hall and City Hall Annex, during regular business hours and all public events
  • Richardson Public Library (hours)
  • Heights Recreation Center, 711 W. Arapaho Rd. (hours)
  • Huffhines Recreation Center, 200 N. Plano Rd. (hours)
  • Richardson Senior Center, 820 W. Arapaho Rd. (hours)

The event is held every September in conjunction with Hunger Action Month and benefits local food banks in several North Texas cities. Peanut butter is perpetually on food bank lists of most-needed foods, since it’s nutritious, kid-friendly, shelf stable and high in protein. Last year, the drive collected more than 300,000 pounds of peanut butter.
