Parks and Engineering staff presented candidate projects for a possible 2026 bond election at Monday’s City Council meeting.
Parks projects presented were identified through the 2023 Parks Master Plan and the 2025 Aquatics Master Plan, and include:
- Six playground renovations,
- Replacing the Cottonwood Pool with a spray-ground,
- Adding a spray-ground at Breckinridge Park,
- Renovating the Canyon Creek Pool, and
- Building a pedestrian bridge across Rowlett Creek at Breckinridge Park.
Priority drainage projects include:
- Lois Branch (Duck Creek) flood prevention, Phases 1-2,
- Hunt Branch (Spring Creek) flood prevention, Phase 2, and
- Erosion control at various locations.
Council has until February to decide on calling a bond election for voters to consider in May 2026.
