Aquatics program managers have increased pay scales and added a variety of incentives to attract much-needed lifeguard recruits to allow for summertime pool operations. Bonuses of $50 and additional pay of up to $750 are being offered, but only for applicants who are hired by May 15.

Currently, the aquatics program is expecting to have just half of the personnel needed for the upcoming swim season, which starts in June. If personnel can’t be found, operational changes to pool facilities will be reviewed.

All positions are open to those ages 15 and older. All lifeguard applicants must hold current certifications in lifeguard training, CPR and First Aid through the American Red Cross with recertification costs covered for all returning lifeguards. Applicants can apply prior to completing certifications but will not be placed on payroll until the certification is obtained.
