RICHARDSON – The North Texas Mayor’s Economic Recovery Council, a committee hosted by the North Texas Commission is hosting a region-wide blood drive with Carter BloodCare to meet the demand for donations due to restrictions put in place by COVID-19.

The blood drive is taking place at Richardson City Hall located at 411 W. Arapaho Rd. right now until 6 p.m.  There are also blood drives taking place at Irving City Hall (825 W. Irving Blvd.) and Fort Worth City Hall (200 Texas St.).

“We are going to help the blood supply get to where it needs to be so patients who find themselves in an emergency situation can make sure blood is always available,” said Richardson Mayor Paul Voelker.

Appointments are required but walks in are being accepted.

Visit www.carterbloodcare.org for more information on future blood drives and to see if you’re eligible to donate blood.  People can also call 800-366-2834 to set up an appointment or have information text to you.
