Time is running out to nominate a volunteer for the Richardson Real Heroes “Annie Award.”

Nominations are open through April 30, and residents are encouraged to act soon to ensure deserving individuals are considered. The annual award recognizes volunteers whose service has made a lasting impact on the Richardson community.

Richardson Real Heroes is a nonprofit program that celebrates individuals who give their time, talents and energy to serve others. Selected honorees will receive the “Annie Award,” recognizing their commitment to improving the lives of Richardson residents, schools or organizations.

The program is designed to highlight everyday people doing extraordinary work — from mentoring youth to supporting local nonprofits and assisting those in need. Many of these individuals are considered “unsung heroes,” making community nominations especially important.

Who is eligible?
Nominees must be individuals who volunteer their time to benefit the Richardson community. They do not have to live in Richardson, but their service must directly impact Richardson residents, schools or organizations. Groups are not eligible, and all service must be volunteer-based and not compensated.

Volunteers representing a wide range of community-focused efforts are encouraged to be nominated.

Awards celebration
Recipients of the “Annie Award” will be honored at the Richardson Real Heroes Awards Celebration, held this year at the Eisemann Center on Wednesday, August 26.
