This family-friendly annual event features a winter wonderland with real snow in the Plaza and festive rides on the Choo Choo Express, backed by holiday tunes spun by a live DJ. It’s also a great time to capture holiday photos in front of the 18-foot Christmas tree.

“Cease the Grease” 2025 Round 2 Begins Today
Help our water system stay clog-free (and save yourself hundreds of dollars in plumbing bills) by avoiding pouring leftover holiday cooking oil and grease down the drain. Instead, bring it to the City’s temporary cooking oil/grease drop-off site today through Jan. 5 at the Municipal Service Center.
Holiday Box Recycling, “Tree-cycling” Underway
Turn your Christmas tree into mulch and compost and keep large gift boxes out of the trash (and out of sight of would-be thieves) through the City’s Tree Cycling and Holiday Box Recycling programs. Both programs began today (Friday, Dec. 19) and continue through Jan. 30.

Santa’s Village Open through Dec. 21
Richardson’s Santa’s Village opened for the 2025 holiday season last Saturday at Huffhines Park (1500 Apollo Rd.) and continues for two more weekends. The annual free event includes time-treasured “dwellings” along with interactive activities in each; free photos with Santa; live entertainment; concessions for sale, and free parking.
