After a public hearing, the City Council voted Monday to update the City’s Drainage Utility System Schedule of Charges. The Drainage Utility System was established in 2011 to maintain and improve the drainage system throughout the City, including nearly 300 miles of drainage pipes and more than 44 miles of creeks throughout 12 drainage basins.
The updated charges are as follows:
- All single-family residential properties: $4.25 per month (an increase of 50 cents per month or 13 percent from the previous monthly rate of $3.75)
- All other non-exempt property— $0.119 per 100 square feet of impervious area per month with a minimum charge of $4.25 per month (an increase of 13 percent from the previous rate of $0.105)
The new rates go into effect Oct. 1.
