City Manager Dan Johnson has appointed Jennifer Davidson to serve as the next Director of the Library Services Department. Davidson is a 17-year veteran with the Richardson Public Library and will advance to the Director position from her current role as Acquisitions and Circulation Supervisor.
Davidson started working at the Library in 2003 as a Youth Services Librarian. She was promoted in 2006 to the position of Librarian II in Adult Services and promoted again in 2016 to her current position. Since 2016 Davidson has also served in the important role of system administrator for the Library’s technology system. She has served as a member of the Richardson Reads One Book board and was recognized as the Richardson Public Library Employee of the Year for 2019.
Davidson will begin her new duties Feb. 1, 2021. She succeeds former Library Services Director Susan Allison, who retired in August after 44 years of service.
