Richardson will observe National Night Out (NNO) Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 6-8 p.m., along with cities and towns across Texas. The annual event (held in October in many southern states and in August in more summer-temperate climates) is designed to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to help in crime prevention and enhance quality of life, as neighbors and police gather at “block parties.”
This year in Richardson, police officers, City officials and special guests will visit registered National Night Out party locations in 110 neighborhoods as well as at six city parks.
Parks include:
- Creek Hollow
- Durham
- Heights
- Mimosa
- Richland
- Yale
This is the 33rd year the City has participated in the event, earning first place nationwide in 2020 in its population category (100,000-299,000 residents), based on events held and number of NNO participants, and second place nationwide in 2021.
