There are two weeks left to check out “My First Date,” at the Core Theatre in Richardson, which is located at 518 W. Arapaho Road, Suite 115.

The play is set in 1941 on a warm late autumn afternoon on Lake Mathis and centers around a 19-year-old preparing for her first date ever.  Unfortunately, her date with a young man she’s been writing letters to for quite some time is already 45 minutes late.

The play is written by Bill Rhoten.

“We do a lot of original works, we do some scripted works and we are very careful about what we do because we want to do things that bring hope in society. We want to help lift people up,” said James Hansen Prince, founder and artistic director of the Core Theatre.

Visit www.thecoretheatre.org for tickets.  The play runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m.  The Final show is on Sept. 1.
