Richardson received another delivery of rail segments for the DART Silver Line Regional Rail Project this week, the fourth “rail drop” in North Texas since the project began. The segments, each 1,600 feet in length, were unloaded within the rail corridor via a specially designed train between the west end of Renner Road eastward to Shiloh Road. Previous rail segments were delivered in Richardson in September, as well as in Addison in July and Carrollton in August.
When finished, the rail line will stretch 26 miles from DFW Airport to Plano. Anticipated completion of the $2 billion project and its 10 new stations is mid-2023.
