Students are invited to celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. by participating in the City’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest and Black History Month Art Contest. Each contest is open to students who reside within the City of Richardson or attend an RISD/PISD school within Richardson—eligible grade levels vary by contest.
Rules and applications for each may be found online. Winners in each age category will receive $200 and will be recognized at a future City Council meeting.
