Miss Tarrant County Ellie Breaux was named the new Miss Texas and Miss Colleyville’s Teen Natalie Poveda became Miss Texas’ Teen in finals held last weekend at the Eisemann Center. It was the first time for the event to be televised since 2007; live streaming was also available.
Breaux, a Houston native and recent graduate of the University of North Texas, won a $20,000 college scholarship. Saturday’s event was the 86th Miss Texas competition; it has been held in Richardson since 2014 and, thanks to a contract extension last year, will continue in Richardson until at least 2026.
Breaux will represent Texas at the Miss America 2024 competition later this year, and Poveda will compete in the Miss America’s Teen competition.
