Looking for something for kids to do this summer? The City of Richardson is hosting dozens of mini camps at its two recreation centers, with themes ranging from art and science to sports and cooking. Mini camps starting next week include:
Cooking Basics Class
Huffhines Recreation Center, 200 N. Plano Rd.
Cost: $180 residents ($2 extra for nonresidents); additional $35 supply fee
June 1-4
1-4 p.m.
Kids and teens ages 7-15 will learn kitchen safety, essential cooking skills and how to make delicious recipes they’ll love.
Crochet Camp
Huffhines Recreation Center, 200 N. Plano Rd.
Cost: $135 residents ($2 extra for nonresidents)
June 1-5 (other sessions June 15-19, June 22-26, June 29-July 3 and July 6-10)
1-3 p.m.
For kids and teens ages 7-16. Students learn the foundation stitches of crochet and make fun projects. Yarn, hooks and snacks provided!
