Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is encouraging North Texans to pedal to work on Friday, May 20, i.e. 2022 National Bike to Work Day, and to “take your wheels on our wheels” with pop-up events taking place across the Metroplex. In Richardson, DART representatives will be at the CityLine/Bush DART Station from 7-9 a.m. that day with free bike safety checks, refreshments, giveaways and information about bike-friendly DART accommodations. Bike storage racks are included on the front of all DART buses, and wide, flat, accessible entries are available on trains, where riders can roll their bikes inside. In addition, there are bike racks and free bike lids at all DART rail stations and transit centers.

The City of Richardson has 25 miles of on-street, designated bike lanes and 93 miles of paved, off-road trails, and is currently working to enhance the City’s trail system and trail connectivity (see Survey article in News above and be sure to take the online survey).
