The White House announced this week that it is partnering with the State of Texas to build three new major Community Vaccination Centers (CVCs) in Dallas, Arlington and Houston. The CVCs will be at Fair Park in Dallas, AT&T Stadium in Arlington and NRG Stadium in Houston. Together, these sites will be capable of administering more than 10,000 shots a day.

Several vaccination locations are already operating in the North Texas area, both public and private, and there are several ways to sign up to receive the vaccine. The City of Richardson’s website includes links to more than a dozen, and the City is partnering with Dallas County Health and Human Services for an in-person registration event at City Hall Feb. 17 (see story below).

People wishing to receive the vaccine are encouraged to sign up at as many websites as possible. Some allow only people in groups 1A and 1B to register; others allow all to register and you are placed on a waitlist determined by group.

There is no charge to receive the vaccine.
