The Richardson Public Library closed for two days unexpectedly this week (Monday and Tuesday) due to malfunctions with the air conditioning system. The cause of the failure was tracked down to failed bearings in the system’s cooling towers. One of the facility’s two chiller towers is repaired, allowing for the Library to open, but the second tower is not expected to be repaired until sometime next week.
The Library reopened Wednesday. Due to the closures, due dates and hold expiration dates were extended.
