Last Saturday, Library patrons got one “last look” inside the Richardson Public Library’s building before it closed at 6 p.m., in preparation for extensive renovations taking place  over the next two years, funded by the 2021 Bond Program. All in-person library services have been suspended until the Library reopens at its temporary location in October; an opening date has not been determined. The Temporary Library will be housed at 2360 Campbell Creek Blvd., alongside Temporary City Hall.

All due dates for library materials have been extended until Oct. 23. The Digital Library of e-resources, including e-books, e-audiobooks, reference sources and more, will remain open throughout the transition. Librarians are also available to answer questions at 972-744-4350 every day during the Library’s normal operating hours (other than today, Sept. 15, which is a staff in-service day). Note that the outdoor Darbey’s StoryWalk® will remain open at the Civic Center Fountain Plaza through September.
