Visitors to the Adaptive Day at Santa’s Village this week got to have a first look at the Richardson Public Library’s first-ever mobile outreach van, named, “R.O.V.E.R.” (Richardson Outreach Van: Exploration Read-Y). The van will help the Library share information about Library services and resources with the Richardson community, engaging with residents where they live, work and play.
Library staff plan to drive it to student events and parent/teacher nights at area Richardson schools; literacy events; City festivals; senior living facilities; activities/programs sponsored by our Library partners; and other community events.
Financial support for the van was provided by Friends of the Richardson Library ($30,000) and the Richardson Rotary ($5,000).
