Double-capacity trash bins were installed this morning at Berkner Park, Crowley Park and Renner Linear Park as part of a trash bin pilot initiative that’s included in the City’s new Clean Parks Program. The program, funded in part by a grant from the Richardson Rotary Club, seeks to reduce trash left behind at park pavilions, reduce micro litter, and raise community awareness about the proper use of park trash receptacles, leaving parks cleaner overall for everyone to enjoy.

The new bins are expected to reduce trash blowout. Future plans for the Clean Parks Program include the installation of trash bag dispensers at pavilions in Crowley Park and Breckinridge Park Complex C.
