RICHARDSON – Although, the four lakes in the North Texas Municipal Water District’s (NTMWD) service area are all 100 percent full or greater as a result of consistent rain in April and May, conservation remains very important.
“The importance of conserving water and really not wasting water is that we are using water that we already established for today’s use and we can extend that use further into several years,” said Denise Hickey, North Texas Municipal Water District.
Currently, Richardson is in its summer water conservation plan, which allows watering at even-numbered addresses on Tuesdays and Saturdays and at odd-numbered addresses on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Watering is not permitted from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Hand watering is allowed anytime when using a hose with a shut-off spray nozzle. Even with lakes full, residents are still urged to water only when needed.
