Richardson residents are invited to attend InspirAsian, a conference intended to captivate, motivate and redefine how Asians are represented in today’s world.

The event is hosted by the Dallas Chinese Community Center and the UTD Asian Center.  It will be held Saturday, July 27 from 1 p.m.-7 p.m. at the SSA Auditorium on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas located at 800 W. Campbell Rd in Richardson.

Speakers at the event will give a TED-style talk about their experiences as an Asian/Asian-American in the arts, film, music and entertainment industry.

“There are a lot of stereotypes around Asians and Asian-Americans in what paths they usually choose, and we were thinking, why can’t people pursue what they want to do. We decided to invite lots of really talented individuals to inspire other individuals to pursue their passion especially in the field of arts, film, music and entertainment industry,” said Jessica Chu, board of directors, Dallas Chinese Community Center.

InspirAsian is funded in part by the City of Richardson through the City of Richardson Cultural Arts Commission.  Visit www.utdallas.edu for more information on the event.
