The 2020 Census will be conducted between January and July and will help residents and communities, like Richardson.

Communities will be able to use the information collected to plan bus routes, draw school district boundaries, and offer community services. Businesses will be able to use the information collected to decide where to invest in the community. These new locations create jobs and support Richardson’s economy. Businesses also use the information to determine what to sell in their stores so communities get what they need.  The information helps communities receive funding from the federal government.

In November 2019, members of Richardson’s Complete Count Committee gathered to kick off its support efforts for the 2020 Census.  The group is made up of representatives from all over the community including education, non-profit organizations and government officials who are working together to design a local strategy to make sure Richardson gets counted.
